Nutrient supplement Formulation based on green leaves (Moringa, Curry, Commelina benghalensis, Amaranthus virdis), etc.(Phase I: 2009-14)

Among the plants that are rich in micronutrients,  Moringa Oleifera is considered to be more important  because of its nutritional properties. Intensive cultivation of organic Moringa was initiated around 2005, and a package of practice was developed on the intensive moringa cultivation in different type of soils amended with organic nutrients. Moringa leaves were processed and powdered and  utilized for its nutritional supplement by adding to dishes while cooking. Awareness was provided on use of moringa powder for its nutritional properties as source of vitamin A for rural women.
